Meet Cole

Cole Taylor is a current student at the Charleston School of Law and a candidate for Student Bar Association President. He is actively involved in student leadership as Chief Justice of the Phi Alpha Delta Haynesworth Chapter, a member of the Charleston Law Moot Court Board, a Student Ambassador, along with participation in other organizations across campus.

Outside of law school, Cole is an Eagle Scout and a dedicated volunteer with Scouting America, where he serves in various administrative and advisory roles. His commitment to service and leadership has been a consistent part of his life, both in and out of the classroom.

Cole graduated from Presbyterian College in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in History, along with minors in Chemistry and Political Science. During his time there, he served four years as President of the Class of 2023, Vice President of the Zeta Theta Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and a Voting Director of the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, gaining extensive experience in student leadership and organizational management.

Before law school, Cole worked as a Legal Assistant at Gaston, Marion, Stubbs, Hunter, and Swancy, P.A., where he developed skills in legal research, drafting, and client communication. That experience solidified his interest in the legal profession and confirmed his desire to pursue a career as an attorney.

During his 1L summer, Cole interned with the United States Coast Guard Office of the Chief Prosecutor, where he gained hands-on experience in military justice and prosecution. In this role, he worked alongside attorneys on case preparation, legal research, and the development of prosecutorial strategy, further strengthening his interest in advocacy and the legal process.

Originally from Chester, South Carolina, Cole values close relationships and community. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and taking his labrador retriever, Prez, to the park.
